GREAT GIFT FOR THE DINOSAUR LOVER IN YOUR LIFE I bought this as a second gift to give with a package of dinosaurs. It turned out to be my favorite gift to give. The mat (vinyl) is brightly colored and somewhat padded. The four corners are creased and fold up to form a square box. Then there is a separate lid to pop on the top. There are straps on the sides to keep the lid on. I think for a 3 to 7 year old who likes dinosaurs it is a great gift. They can take the toys with them in the car, to a friends house, outside to play. Having the box and lid, I assume, encourages the child to put their toys in it to carry them around. I only give it 3 stars on durability because it is constructed of cardboard and vinyl.
Loads of creative fun AND storage I purchased this item to go with the Carnegie scale model dinosaurs for a combined Christmas present for my 3 and 6 year old nephews. WOW, did they love it. The mat offers lots of creative play with the dinosaur models and then you can pack it all up by folding the mat into itself, which creates a box for storage.
